[ OUR HISTORY ]
SGH’s roots reach all the way back to 1949 when we originally opened as Swanson Sales in Des Moines, IA by Ken Swanson (1900-1986). We became Swanson Gentleman, Inc. when Greg Gentleman purchased the controlling interest in 1961. Dick Hart was a direct sales representative for a large supplier from 1959 until 1974 when Swanson Gentleman Hart was formed in Omaha, Nebraska.
In 2000, Dean Jessick, Joe Foral, Jack Gray, and Tracy Salmonson bought the company and decided to use SGH, Inc. as the tradename. Over the past 60 years, SGH, Inc. has secured its reputation for providing quality products to commercial builders throughout the Midwest.
